Distorted sun
by Konstantinos Kourtidis, Demokritus University of Thrace, Xanthi, Greece
A distrorted red setting sun. The sun's circle is distorted due to the existence of distinct temperature layers in the lower atmosphere. The picture was taken at 8:33 local time from Gialiskari, Ikaria (37 deg 38` N, 26 deg 06` E).
