Malta: View over Gnejna Bay
by Wolfgang Fraedrich, Hamburg, Germany
The Gnejna Bay (Maltese: Il Ġnejna) is one of the most beautiful and impressive bays on the island of Malta, located at the northwest coast of the island, about 1.5 km west of the center of the small town Mġarr. In addition to the extensive sandy beach, which invites you to swim, visitors will be fascinated by the various turquoise sections of the mediterranean bay. It goes steeply up to the island, here you can also see the geological formations of the island, which is characterized by various, partly very fossil-rich limestone from the Neogene. The Gnejna Bay is accessible easily, on a narrow road also accessible by car.
