Skaergaard trough layers
Skaergaard is famous for the ‘layered’ appearance of the rocks. The layers formed when hot liquid magma inside the earth cooled and crystallized. By studying the layers, we will gain a better understanding of how volcanoes are connected to Earth’s interior, and how deposits of useful metals are formed.
