by Christian Heine, PaleoEarthLabs.org, The Netherlands
View of the Glarus Thrust (Glarner Hauptüberschiebung) and the Tschingelhörner from Plaun Segnas Sut towards the North. Main thrust plane is located between the upper dark units (Verrucano, Permian) and the lighter-colored lower units (Infrahelvetic, Flysch and carbonates). Displacement along the fault is estimated to be around 40-50 km (Pfiffner, 1985). The location is part of the UNESCO World heritage site 'Tektonikarena Sardona'.
