Matterhorn-The chocolate mountain.
If you are reading this you might have seen this mountain before, either because you have had the chance to visit it or because you have eaten Toblerone! It is the majestic Matterhorn, at 4,478 meters in Switzerland. It is located at the border of the western Swiss canton of Valais between Zermatt and the Italian town of Breuil-Cervinia in the Aosta Valley. The four steep faces face the four compass points. The Matterhorn is mainly composed of gneisses and the current shape is the result of cirque erosion due to multiple glaciers diverging from the peak. It has become an iconic emblem of the Swiss Alps and of the Alps in general because of its climbing and trekking routes.
