20 years after the Aznalcóllar disaster

The Aznalcóllar disaster was produced by a dumping of toxic sludge in the Doñana National and Natural Park, in Andalusia (Spain), on April 25th, 1998, caused by the rupture of the Aznalcóllar Mining Raft, owned by the Swedish company Boliden.
Currently, researchers from the Spanish Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) and other institutions are conducting studies on the recovery of the affected areas.
