A glittering morning -- solar halo with sundogs
It was the start into a freezing cold day, and the entire sky was glittering with tiny ice crystals that fell out of a fog that had covered the sky all night. As the fog started dissolving and the sun came through, the light formed a bright halo around the sun, complete with colorful sundogs on either side of the sun. These phenomena appear due to the refraction of sunlight from ice crystals in clouds.
