Disappearing glaciers
This image shows a small tributary to Whataroa Velly below Mt.Moffat, Southern Alps, New Zealand, with some disappearing remnants of what once was a small valley glaciers in the foreground. The entire glacier foreland with its dominent lateral moraines is now ice-free as the ice-polished bedrock in the right lower image. This image clearly depicts the recent glacier melting in the entire region.
