Small scale fold
by Stefano Urbani, University of "Roma Tre", Rome, Italy
A small scale fold in the "Schistes Lustrès" formation. The numerous fold structures in the outcrop, (verging ENE), indicate a ductile deformation, in an extensional regime, of the original foliation of the "Schistes Lustrès". This is an example of the polyphase folding that affected the "Schistes Lustrés" ophiolite of Alpine Corsica.
Location: Along the coast road between Cap Corse and Bastia, Corsica.
