Geode from Sahara
by Yasmina Bouderba, CRAAG, Algiers, Algeria
This GEODE was found in Algerian Sahara. It is a hollow rock with lots of sparkling crystals inside. Where, the crystal growth takes place by accretion around a growth seed, which may be an impurity or a microscopic crystal of the same species. This growth is normally based on water according to specific conditions of temperature and pressure of the crystal.
