Shady forest in the mountains of the moon
by Antonio Jordán, University of Seville, Sevilla, Spain
The name of the Mountains of the Moon (Sierra de Luna) in the Spanish side of the Strait of Gibraltar is due to a famous bandit whose family name was Luna. Due to the proximity of the sea, the environment is humid all year round and a very dense and foggy forest is formed.
